Qualifying as an Occupational Therapist in 1979 Joy has 30 years of experience within rehabilitation field for physical disability dealing with injury, orthopaedic surgery and trauma covering assessments, treatment planning, sourcing appropriate equipment. She specialised in the rehabilitation for people who have had an amputation or born with part of a limb absent, and has worked in this field for the last 23 years while working at the Disabled Services Centre at Stanmore, Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. Special interest is in the rehabilitation of those with a hand loss. Including exploring the benefits and relevance for an individual to use a prosthesis on their arms.
